Dear Parents, this is the Spelling list for Spelling (3) and (4). I’m very sorry that this list comes so late because I was having difficulty uploading the list to this blog. However, the boys have already received the list on Monday. Spelling (3) will be held tomorrow.

Please take note that Spelling (4) will be on next Tuesday instead of Thursday due to Chinese New Year. Thank you.

小三华文 课文字词手册 (3A) A Handbook of Chinese Vocabulary for Primary 3A

    Dear all,

I would like to recommend this above-mentioned guide book for Chinese Language. It is actually a Vocabulary guide book based on the words taught in the textbook. Whenever the boys come across any Vocabulary in the textbooks which they do not know, they can refer to this guide book. This book not only provides them meanings of the words in Chinese and English, it also provides them with examples on how they can make sentences with the words.

This is how the cover looks like:

You can get this book in all Popular outlets for only $3.95.

However, it is NOT COMPULSORY for the boys to buy this book, as we will not be going through this guide book during lessons. However, I think this book might be useful to the boys when they need to do any self-study at home.

    Journal Writing

    Dear Parents,

the boys just brought their “Journal” (练笔) home today as homework. However, many of them still fail to bring this Journal to class today. The boys should have 2 composition exercise book in total for Chinese, one for Journal writing, one for Composition writing.

The topic which they are supposed to write over this weekend is “Myself” (我). I have already gave them some guiding questions to help them in their work. The minimum number of words they have to write is 40 words. And on the left page, they are supposed to stick a photo or draw a picture about themselves.

Please take note that this is not a composition writing exercise, the boys need not write a story. The content should be covering anything about themselves, for instance, their likes and dislikes.

The boys would have to submit this work on Wednesday (16th Jan 2008).

Thank you for your kind attention. :)

    Dear Parents,

a hard copy of the above Spelling list has been given out to the boys yesterday. The first spelling will start next Thursday (17th January 2008). The boys need not memorise the sentence for number 10, it will be read out to them. The rest of the words from number 1 to 9 will also be read out to them.

I would like to seek your help in ensuring that your son is prepared for the Spelling, as it is an assessment to see if he has remembered how to write the characters.

Thank you very much for your kind attention.
